Baked Savory Sweet Tofu Cubes
Ingredients
- 1 block tofu
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp ginger powder
Preparation
Drain and press the tofu block for at least one hour
Cut the pressed tofu into cubes
Place the tofu cubes in a medium-sized container
Add soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, nutritional yeast, garlic powder, and ginger powder
Seal the container and gently shake to coat evenly
Place the coated tofu on a baking sheet
Bake at 400°F for 25 minutes
Serve as desired
Tips
Pressing tofu removes excess water, resulting in a chewier texture and better marinade absorption
You can use a tofu press, purchase pre-pressed super firm tofu, or press manually by wrapping the tofu block in paper towels or a clean towel, placing it between two plates, and weighting it with a heavy book
Press for at least one hour for best results
