Baked Garlic Chili Tofu

Ingredients

  • 1 block extra firm tofu
  • 2 tbsp tamari
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 2 tsp chili garlic sauce

Preparation

  1. Press the tofu for at least 30 minutes to drain it.

  2. Set the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

  3. Cut the pressed tofu into even cubes.

  4. Place the tofu cubes in a bowl or a sealable container.

  5. Add the tamari, nutritional yeast, and chili garlic sauce to the tofu.

  6. Gently toss or shake to coat the tofu evenly.

  7. Transfer the coated tofu to a lined baking sheet, ensuring the cubes are not touching.

  8. Bake in the oven for at least 25 minutes or until the edges are browned.

  9. Remove from the oven and serve as desired.

Serving notes

  1. For a noodle dish, sauté vegan Yakisoba noodles and vegetables with a sauce made from peanut butter, soy sauce, garlic chili sauce, water, maple syrup, garlic powder, and ginger powder, then fold in the baked tofu.
