Baked Garlic Chili Tofu

Ingredients

  • 1 block extra firm tofu
  • 2 tbsp tamari
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 2 tsp chili garlic sauce

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.

  2. Press the tofu for at least 30 minutes to remove excess water.

  3. Cut the tofu into even cubes.

  4. Place the tofu cubes in a bowl or a sealed container.

  5. Add tamari, nutritional yeast, and chili garlic sauce to the tofu.

  6. Toss or shake gently to coat the tofu evenly.

  7. Spread the coated tofu cubes on a lined baking sheet, ensuring they do not touch each other.

  8. Bake in the oven for at least 25 minutes or until the edges are browned.

  9. Remove from the oven and serve as desired.

Serving suggestion

  1. Sauté vegan Yakisoba noodles and vegetables in a pan.

  2. Prepare a sauce by mixing 1 tablespoon peanut butter, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 teaspoon garlic chili sauce, 3-4 tablespoons water, 2 teaspoons maple syrup, a pinch of garlic powder, and a pinch of ginger powder.

  3. Whisk the sauce together and pour it into the pan with the noodles and vegetables.

  4. Cook until the noodles absorb the sauce.

  5. Fold in the baked tofu and serve the mixture.
