Creamy Maca Porridge Breakfast
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup porridge oats (fine oats)
- 1 cup water
- pinch of good quality salt
- 1/2 cup plant milk of choice
- 1 tsp maca (substitute with favorite superfood powder or cacao)
Optional add-ins
- 1/2 tsp vanilla and/or cinnamon
- 1-2 tsp maple syrup
Preparation
Add oats, water, and salt to a saucepan.
Bring to a simmer and cook until almost all water is absorbed, usually about 3 minutes, mixing frequently.
Add plant milk and optional cinnamon and vanilla.
Continue cooking until desired consistency, mixing constantly.
Remove from heat and mix in maca powder and optional maple syrup.
Serve warm with toppings of choice.
Tips
Mix in superfood powders after cooking to preserve their nutrients.
