Steel Cut Oats Breakfast Bowl

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup steel cut oats
  • 2 1/4 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon maca
  • Splash of cashew milk
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation

  1. Place the steel cut oats in a small pot and cover with water, then soak overnight.

  2. When ready to cook, rinse the oats in a fine sieve and place them in the pot with 2 1/4 cups of water.

  3. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to medium low to cook.

  4. Cook for approximately 20 minutes or until the oats start to thicken.

  5. Add the maple syrup and continue to cook.

  6. Add the vanilla, cinnamon, and maca.

  7. Remove from heat and let rest. Stir in a splash of cashew milk if desired.
