Vanilla Bourbon Glazed Salmon
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
- 1 tsp. Simply Organic® Crushed Red Pepper
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 tsp. Simply Organic® Pure Madagascar Vanilla Extract
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
- Sea or Himalayan pink salt, to taste
- Oil for frying
- Green onion, thinly sliced, optional
Preparation
Place a small saucepan over medium heat and add bourbon, brown sugar, butter, red pepper flakes and soy sauce.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat slightly and simmer for about 5 minutes, until glaze starts to thicken.
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
Season each salmon fillet with salt to taste and heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
Add oil to heated skillet.
Place fillets in skillet skin side up and sear until golden brown, then carefully flip over.
Brush salmon with glaze.
After a minute or two, brush again.
Repeat until all glaze is used and salmon is cooked through to 145 degrees.
Serve warm with thinly sliced green onion.
