Vegan Beer Cheese Dip

Ingredients

  • 8 oz (235g) of @violife_foods Vegan Cheddar Cheese shredded
  • 2/3 cup (100g) of @tofuttibrands Vegan Cream Cheese
  • 3 Tbsp (15g) of Vegan Butter
  • 3 Tbsp (15g) of Flour
  • 2/3 cup (158 ml) Vegan Beer of your choice (use a beer that you like to drink or sub more plant milk)
  • 3/4 cup (177 ml) Plant Milk
  • 1 tsp (5g) of Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp (5g) of Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp (2.5g) of Smoked Paprika
  • 2 tsp (10 ml) of Dijon Mustard
  • 2 tsp (10 ml) of Vegan Worcestershire Sauce
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. In a medium sized pot melt the butter on medium-high heat.

  2. Add the flour and whisk until smooth. Add in the garlic powder, onion powder and smoked paprika and mix until blended.

  3. Add the beer in a little at a time while whisking. Once incorporated, add in the milk the same way. Allow the mixture to heat up and lightly bubble.

  4. Add in the cream cheese, Worcestershire and Dijon mustard and whisk until smooth.

  5. Slowly add in the shredded cheddar and mix until melted. Season with salt and pepper.

  6. Lower the heat to medium and continue to mix until completely smooth. Should take about 4-5 minutes.

  7. Serve immediately with soft pretzels, pretzel bites, pita chips, veggies or even apple slices.

Notes

  1. This dip is a great way to celebrate National Cheese Day or enjoy at gatherings.
