Malaysian Spicy Sour Chicken

Ingredients

  • Half a chicken, cut into small pieces
  • Vietnamese coriander leaves
  • One bowl of tamarind juice
  • 3 cups water
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar to taste
  • Cooking oil

Ground

  • A handful of dried chilies
  • 7 shallots
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1 inch ginger
  • One anchovy cube

Preparation

  1. Sauté the ground ingredients until oil separates.

  2. Add chicken and Vietnamese coriander. Stir well and cover the pot until chicken shrinks slightly.

  3. Add tamarind juice and stir well.

  4. Add salt and sugar. Stir well.

  5. Add water as needed.

  6. Cover the pot and cook until chicken is tender and sauce thickens.

  7. The dish is ready.
