Crispy Chickpea Toasts with Avocado and Spices

Ingredients

  • 4 slices of toast (for 2 servings)
  • 1 large avocado
  • 1 can of chickpeas
  • 1/2 tsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp mild chilli powder
  • Pinch of turmeric
  • Lime (to taste)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Preparation

  1. Mash the avocado with lime juice, salt, and pepper.

  2. Rinse and pat dry the chickpeas.

  3. Roast the chickpeas in olive oil at 180°C for 20 minutes until crunchy.

  4. Remove the chickpeas, toss with garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, smoked paprika, mild chilli powder, and turmeric.

  5. Return the chickpeas to the oven for a few more minutes to absorb the flavors.

  6. Serve the spiced chickpeas on top of the toast with the mashed avocado and a squeeze of lime.
