Dairy-Free Nut-Free Cheese

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp agar-agar
  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3/4 cups barista oat milk
  • 1 1/2 tbsp tapioca starch
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 pinch turmeric
  • Garlic powder & salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp water

Preparation

  1. Mix water and tapioca starch together in a bowl

  2. In a pan, combine oat milk, vegetable oil, agar-agar, nutritional yeast, lemon juice, turmeric, salt and garlic powder

  3. Mix until dissolved

  4. Cook on medium heat for 3 minutes

  5. Once cheese begins to bubble, add tapioca starch mixture and cook for 1 minute

  6. Lightly grease a small bowl with vegetable oil

  7. Add cheese mixture to bowl and refrigerate for 2 hours

  8. Roll cheese in smoked paprika and enjoy

Notes

  1. This cheese is great on crackers, as a pizza topping, or in sandwiches
