Plant-Based BBQ Chickpea Bowl
Ingredients
- 2 tbs tomato puree
- 3 tbs maple syrup
- 2 tsp vegan Worcester sauce
- 1 tsp garlic puree
- 2 tsp tamari or soy sauce
- 1 tsp liquid smoke (optional)
- 1/2 tsp cider vinegar
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tbs of water to thin it out
- a little coconut sugar after tasting (optional)
- 1 can of chickpeas, rinsed and dried with a kitchen towel
Preparation
Place chickpeas in air fryer for around 10-15 minutes at 180 degrees, checking and tossing for even cooking on all sides.
Combine all sauce ingredients and mix well, then taste and adjust to your flavor preference.
Once chickpeas are ready with a little crunch on the outside and still soft in the middle, warm a little sauce over low heat.
Toss the chickpeas in the sauce to coat them nicely.
Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy.
