Easy Two-Ingredient Yoghurt Bagels

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Greek-style yoghurt (or dairy-free alternative)
  • 2 cups self-raising flour
  • A splash of soy milk or melted butter, optional, for brushing
  • Bagel seasoning, optional

Preparation

  1. Set your oven to 190°C (fan-forced if using) and line a baking tray with baking paper.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together yoghurt and flour until a soft dough comes together. If it’s a bit sticky, dust in a little extra flour.

  3. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for a couple of minutes until it’s smooth.

  4. Split the dough into 4 pieces for larger bagels or 8 smaller ones.

  5. Shape each piece into a ball, then press your thumb through the centre and gently widen the hole to form a ring.

  6. Arrange the bagels on your lined tray. Brush the tops with soy milk or melted butter for a glossy finish if you like and sprinkle on bagel seasoning for extra flavour.

  7. Bake in the oven for 20–25 minutes, or until golden on top.

  8. Let them cool fully on a wire rack before serving.

Tips

  1. Perfect base to customize with your favorite fillings.

  2. Works well with gluten-free flour or soy yoghurt for dietary adaptations.
