Fat Rascals Scone Hybrid Treat

Ingredients

  • 100g self raising flour
  • 50g margarine
  • 3 tbsp any sugar or sweetener
  • 2 tbsp apple puree or 1 egg
  • 1-2 handful any dried fruit
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 5 glacé cherries and 15 almonds

Preparation

  1. Pre-heat your oven to 200C/ 400F/ gas mark 6.

  2. Put all of the ingredients into a bowl and mix with a spoon so the mixture clumps together and forms a dough.

  3. Line an oven-proof tray with baking paper/parchment and tear off bits of the dough to create five flattened balls. They don't need to look perfect as they are supposed to look rustic.

  4. Pop them on the tray and oven bake for 15 minutes.

  5. Eat them warm as they are or serve with butter or jam.

Tips

  1. You can add a touch of cinnamon, lemon zest, orange zest, nutmeg, ginger or mixed peel if you fancy.
