Malaysian Putu Bambu Dessert
Ingredients
- 250 grams rice flour
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1.5 cups grated coconut
- 1 cup palm sugar
- 3 ripe bananas
- Lime juice
Preparation
Slice the bananas and sprinkle with lime juice to prevent browning.
Add 1 teaspoon salt to the rice flour and mix until it resembles bread crumbs.
Add 1/3 cup water and mix well to combine.
Add 1 cup grated coconut and mix thoroughly.
Spoon 2 tablespoons of the mixture into a bamboo mold or round mold.
Add a little palm sugar or the sliced banana and top with 1 tablespoon grated coconut.
Steam for 10 minutes or until cooked.
Remove from the steamer and serve.
