Malaysian Putu Bambu Dessert

Ingredients

  • 250 grams rice flour
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1.5 cups grated coconut
  • 1 cup palm sugar
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • Lime juice

Preparation

  1. Slice the bananas and sprinkle with lime juice to prevent browning.

  2. Add 1 teaspoon salt to the rice flour and mix until it resembles bread crumbs.

  3. Add 1/3 cup water and mix well to combine.

  4. Add 1 cup grated coconut and mix thoroughly.

  5. Spoon 2 tablespoons of the mixture into a bamboo mold or round mold.

  6. Add a little palm sugar or the sliced banana and top with 1 tablespoon grated coconut.

  7. Steam for 10 minutes or until cooked.

  8. Remove from the steamer and serve.
