Homemade Bahraini Karak Tea

Ingredients

Spice mix

  • 3 teacups black tea leaves
  • 1 cup powdered milk
  • 1/2 cup ground cardamom
  • 1/4 cup ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ground saffron

For brewing

  • 1 cup liquid milk
  • 1 spoonful spice mix
  • sugar to taste

Preparation

  1. Mix all the spice mix ingredients together and store in an airtight container.

  2. To prepare Karak tea, combine 1 cup of liquid milk, 1 spoonful of the spice mix, and sugar to taste in a pot.

  3. Heat on low heat for about 15 minutes until it boils and the flavors are well infused.

Tips

  1. Black pepper adds a light touch and can be omitted if not desired.
