Refreshing Mango Salsa Recipe for Hot Summer Days

Ingredients

  • 250g frozen mango (defrosted), or 1 ripe, fresh mango
  • 1 small red onion
  • 1/2 red chilli, or chilli flakes
  • Cilantro (or mint)
  • Lime juice, from 1 lime
  • Tiny drizzle of syrup (or brown sugar)
  • Optional: a few drops of oil
  • Optional: thinly diced red bell pepper
  • Salt and pepper

Preparation

  1. If using frozen mango, defrost it according to the package instructions. If using fresh mango, peel and dice it.

  2. Finely chop the red onion and red chilli. If using chilli flakes, adjust the amount to your preferred level of spiciness.

  3. Chop the cilantro or mint leaves finely.

  4. In a bowl, combine the mango, red onion, red chilli, cilantro or mint, lime juice, and a tiny drizzle of syrup or brown sugar.

  5. If using, add a few drops of oil for extra flavor and shine.

  6. Optional: Add the thinly diced red bell pepper for extra crunch and color.

  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  8. Mix all the ingredients together until well combined.

  9. Serve the mango salsa as a refreshing and flavorful topping for your favorite dishes. Enjoy!
