Baked Waffles with Strawberries and Cream
Ingredients
Strawberry chia jam
- 300g strawberries
- 1 tsp rose extract, optional
- 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 0.25 cup Iswari chia seeds
Waffles
- 1 cup @iswariofficial Original Pancake Waffle Mix
- 1 cup plant milk of choice
- 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Cooking oil spray, optional.
- Fresh strawberries, optional
- 1 cup coconut cream, whipped
Preparation
Mash or blend the strawberries for the jam. Mix in the rose extract, maple syrup, and chia seeds, and whisk well. Set aside in the fridge for at least 1 hour or overnight.
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
In a large bowl, mix together the pancake waffle mix and plant-based milk. Whisk until combined and set aside for 4-5 minutes.
If eating the waffles hot, spray oil on the silicone moulds beforehand to ease removal. Divide the batter into 4 silicone waffle mould cavities and place on a baking tray. Bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly browned.
Serve the waffles with coconut cream, chia jam, and fresh strawberries.
