Malaysian Buah Melaka Rice Balls
Ingredients
- 500g glutinous rice flour
- Water
- 1 teaspoon fine salt
- 1 cup pandan juice with green food coloring
- 1-2 blocks palm sugar, cut into cubes
- Grated coconut mixed with a little salt
Preparation
Combine the glutinous rice flour and salt, mix well.
Add the pandan juice and a little water gradually, knead with hands until the dough does not stick to hands and is not too soft.
Shape the dough into balls and insert the cubed palm sugar into each ball.
Meanwhile, bring a pot of water to a boil.
Once the water is boiling, add the dough balls and boil until they float to the surface.
Remove with a strainer and drain the water.
Immediately roll the cooked balls in the salted grated coconut until fully coated.
Tips
This kuih is very easy to make and best eaten hot for better taste.
