Quick and Easy Spiced Cranberry Sauce
Ingredients
- 12 oz fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 Tbsp minced ginger
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp orange zest
- 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
- Pinch of salt
Preparation
Zest and juice a navel orange according to the amounts specified and mix with all the ingredients
Heat in a small pot over medium-high heat to bring to a simmer
Reduce heat to medium and cook for 10 minutes
Use a heavy spoon or potato masher to break down the cranberries while heating
Serving suggestions
Serve warm or refrigerated and it can be heated up again for a warm side dish
