Quick and Easy Spiced Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients

  • 12 oz fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 Tbsp minced ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp orange zest
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • Pinch of salt

Preparation

  1. Zest and juice a navel orange according to the amounts specified and mix with all the ingredients

  2. Heat in a small pot over medium-high heat to bring to a simmer

  3. Reduce heat to medium and cook for 10 minutes

  4. Use a heavy spoon or potato masher to break down the cranberries while heating

Serving suggestions

  1. Serve warm or refrigerated and it can be heated up again for a warm side dish
