Fluffy Cake with Only Three Ingredients
Ingredients
- 5 eggs
- 1 cup (180 g) sugar
- 2 cups (300 g) cornstarch (Maizena)
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract (optional)
Preparation
Separate the egg whites from the yolks
Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form
Continue beating and add the yolks one at a time
Continue beating and gradually add the sugar
Beat for 5 minutes, then stop the mixer
Gradually add the cornstarch and mix gently with a wire whisk
If desired, add the vanilla extract and mix until well incorporated
Pour the batter into a greased and cornstarch-dusted 22cm pan
Bake in a preheated oven at 180Β°C for about 40 minutes or until golden brown
Tips
Always fold the batter from the bottom up to maintain lightness
