Simple 3-Ingredient Fluffy Cake

Ingredients

  • 5 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar (180 g)
  • 2 cups cornstarch (Maizena) (300 g)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Preparation

  1. Separate the egg whites from the yolks

  2. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form

  3. Continue beating and add the yolks one at a time

  4. Continue beating and gradually add the sugar

  5. Beat for 5 minutes and stop the mixer

  6. Gradually add the cornstarch and mix with a wire whisk

  7. Pour the batter into a 22cm greased and cornstarch-floured pan

  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 180Β°C (350Β°F) for about 40 minutes or until golden brown

Tips

  1. When adding the cornstarch, fold gently from the bottom up to maintain the batter's lightness

  2. For extra flavor, add the vanilla extract after the cornstarch and mix until incorporated
