Easy Orange Cake with Citrus Glaze

Ingredients

  • 1 medium orange, with peel
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup oil or 2 heaping tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup corn starch
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

Glaze

  • juice of 1 medium orange
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Preparation

  1. Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (180Β°C).

  2. Grease and flour a round cake pan.

  3. Cut the orange into 4 pieces and remove any visible seeds.

  4. In a blender, combine the orange, eggs, oil, and sugar; blend until smooth.

  5. In a bowl, mix the flour, corn starch, and baking powder. Gradually add the blended mixture, stirring until a smooth batter forms.

  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35 minutes.

Glaze

  1. Bring the orange juice and sugar to a boil in a small saucepan over medium heat.

  2. Pour the glaze over the cake.
