Easy Orange Cake with Citrus Glaze
Ingredients
- 1 medium orange, with peel
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup oil or 2 heaping tablespoons butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 0.5 cup corn starch
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
Glaze
- juice of 1 medium orange
- 2 tablespoons sugar
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350Β°F (180Β°C).
Grease and flour a round cake pan.
Cut the orange into 4 pieces and remove any visible seeds.
In a blender, combine the orange, eggs, oil, and sugar; blend until smooth.
In a bowl, mix the flour, corn starch, and baking powder. Gradually add the blended mixture, stirring until a smooth batter forms.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 35 minutes.
Glaze
Bring the orange juice and sugar to a boil in a small saucepan over medium heat.
Pour the glaze over the cake.
