Hummus Toast with Chickpeas and Tahini

Ingredients

  • 200g Chickpeas (raw) / 500g cooked Chickpeas
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 100g Tahini
  • 15ml Olive oil
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tbsp baking powder (only if you cook the chickpeas by yourself)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 25ml water

Preparation

  1. If using raw chickpeas, cook them with baking powder until tender

  2. Blend the cooked chickpeas with lemon, garlic, tahini, olive oil, cumin, salt, pepper, and water until smooth

  3. Toast bread slices until golden

  4. Spread the hummus onto the toasted bread and serve

Tips

  1. Roughly peel the chickpeas before blending for a smoother texture
