Moong Dal Stuffed Parathas

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup yellow moong dal
  • 1 cup water
  • Salt
  • Turmeric
  • Red chilli powder to taste
  • Green chilli to taste
  • Coriander powder to taste
  • Garam masala to taste
  • Fennel to taste
  • Whole wheat flour

Preparation

  1. Wash the yellow moong dal.

  2. Pressure cook the dal with 1 cup water, salt, and turmeric until 2 whistles.

  3. Allow the steam to release naturally.

  4. Add spices such as red chilli powder, green chilli, coriander powder, garam masala, and fennel to taste.

  5. Knead whole wheat flour to make dough.

  6. Stuff the dough with the spiced dal mixture and roll into parathas.

  7. Cook the parathas on a griddle with ghee until golden brown.

Tips

  1. Ensure the dal is not mushy; avoid overcooking or using too much water.

  2. Serve with chutney, achar, butter, or curd for best flavor.
