Savory Turkish Pan-Fried Borek

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • Quarter teaspoon salt (adjustable)
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • A handful of parsley
  • 5 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Slightly less than 1 cup milk
  • About 100 grams cheese (such as Antep or Besni cheese; reduce salt if too salty)
  • 5 tablespoons flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Preparation

  1. Break the eggs and mix with salt and peppers.

  2. Add oil, cheese, and parsley, then stir well.

  3. Add milk and mix.

  4. Add the dry ingredients (flour and baking powder) and mix thoroughly.

  5. Heat a little butter in a pan.

  6. Pour the mixture into the pan, cover, and cook both sides until golden.

  7. It is ready to serve.

Notes

  1. The amount of salt can be increased or decreased to taste.

  2. Use any mild cheese; if it is salty, reduce the added salt.
