Date and Nut Roll Dessert

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons ghee or butter
  • 2 tablespoons sesame
  • 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup chopped pistachios
  • 1/2 cup coconut
  • 500 grams date paste
  • 1/4 cup tahini

Garnish

  • fine pistachios for decoration

Preparation

  1. Prepare a piece of parchment paper and grease it with oil. Set it aside.

  2. In a large skillet, heat the ghee. Add sesame, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, walnuts, pistachios, coconut, and stir for a few seconds until fragrant.

  3. Add the dates and tahini and continue stirring on low heat until the ingredients are well combined.

  4. Immediately while hot, place the mixture on the parchment paper and shape it into a roll.

  5. Sprinkle pistachios and roll the date mixture in them to coat well.

  6. Wrap the paper tightly and refrigerate for several hours to set completely.

  7. Using a knife, cut the roll into slices and serve.
