Easy One-Bowl School Cake
Ingredients
- 200g butter
- 200g sugar
- 200g self raising flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla flavouring
- 3 - 5 tbsp milk (adjust as needed)
Icing
- 200g icing sugar
- water (add 1 tbsp at a time)
- hundreds and thousands
Preparation
Preheat your oven to 180°C. Place all the ingredients for the cake except the milk and whisk using a hand or stand mixer until smooth. Then add the milk and whisk again.
Pour the cake batter into a lined cake tin and bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool.
Mix the icing sugar and water together until smooth and ribbon-like. Pour over the cooled cake, smooth out, and add sprinkles immediately. Let set for 1 hour before slicing and serving.
Tips
You can slice the cake even if the icing is still wet as it will still taste good.
