Grilled Tilapia with Padang Spices
Ingredients
- 3 whole tilapia fish
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 10 red bird's eye chilies
- 100 ml coconut milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
Spice paste
- 12 curly red chilies
- 10 shallots
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 cm ginger
- 2 cm turmeric
Preparation
Marinate the fish with salt and lemon juice.
Sauté the ground spice paste until fragrant.
Pour in the coconut milk, stir well, add salt, and cook on low heat until thickened.
Apply the sauce to the fish and let it marinate for 1 hour.
Grill the fish until cooked, basting with the marinade.
Serving suggestions
Serve with hot rice and fresh vegetables. If not spicy enough, prepare a side sambal.
