Fried Temaki Sushi Rolls
Ingredients
Rice
- 400 grams Japanese rice
- 2.5 cups water
Rice seasoning
- 4 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
Filling
- 400 grams chopped salmon
- 200 grams cream cheese
- 1/2 cup chives
- Salt to taste
Batter and coating
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Panko breadcrumbs
Other
- Nori seaweed for sushi
- Oil for frying
- Tare sauce
Preparation
Wash and drain the rice three times.
Add the water and cook covered until the water is absorbed.
Add the rice seasoning on top and let it cool.
Mix the filling ingredients together well.
Cut the nori sheet in half.
Assemble the temaki using 70 grams of rice and 50 grams of filling per roll, rolling it into a cone shape.
Prepare the batter by mixing flour and water, adjusting the consistency as needed, and season with salt and pepper.
Dip the assembled temaki in the batter, then coat with panko breadcrumbs.
Fry in very hot oil until crispy.
Finish with tare sauce and chives.
Tips
Always wet your hands when handling the rice to prevent it from sticking.
