Turkish Pişi Fried Dough
Ingredients
- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 cups warm water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Half fresh yeast or 1 instant yeast
- About 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Flour as needed
For frying
- Oil for frying
Preparation
Combine the liquid ingredients and yeast in a mixing bowl and mix well.
Gradually add flour until a soft dough forms.
Allow the dough to rise for about half an hour.
Form the dough into walnut-sized balls and let them rise.
Flatten the center of each ball using a rolling pin or your fingers.
Heat plenty of oil in a pan and fry the shaped dough until golden.
Tips
You can try half the recipe or use half to make yeast bread.
Alternatively, store the dough in the refrigerator for use the next day.
