Japanese Fried Shrimp
Ingredients
- 500g large shrimp, peeled with tail on
- 1 lime
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Batter
- 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- water, as needed
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Coating
- coarse bread crumbs
Preparation
Straighten the shrimp, squeeze lime over it to remove fishy smell, let it sit briefly, then rinse with water.
Mix the batter ingredients evenly, ensuring it is not too thick or too thin.
Coat the shrimp with garlic powder, pepper powder, and salt, then refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow seasonings to absorb.
Dip the shrimp in the batter, then coat with bread crumbs while pressing, and repeat the process once.
Fry in hot oil until cooked.
Serve.
