Starch Ghribah Cookies
Ingredients
- 2 cups starch
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 3 large egg whites
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup softened butter
- 1/4 cup flour
Decoration
- melted chocolate
- finely ground pistachio
Preparation
Prepare shallow-edged trays and preheat oven to 180°C.
Sift the starch, baking powder, and flour, then set aside.
In the mixer bowl, place sugar, egg whites, vanilla, and butter; attach the whisk and beat until the mixture is fluffy.
Remove the whisk and attach the paddle, add the flour and starch mixture, mix gently until combined.
Take a little dough between your fingertips and shape into small balls.
Place the balls on the tray with space between each piece.
Bake the ghribah for 10 minutes; you will notice some cracks on the surface which is characteristic due to the starch, then let it cool completely.
Decorate with chocolate and pistachio, then serve.
