Kırıkkale Keskin Tava Lamb Bake
Ingredients
- 6 lamb chops
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- 2-3 tomatoes
- 4-5 green peppers
- 3-4 bell peppers
- 6-7 cloves garlic
- 2 teaspoons tomato paste
- 1 cup hot water
- 2 tablespoons butter for topping
Preparation
Marinate the lamb chops with olive oil, black pepper, red chili powder, and salt, then cover and refrigerate for a few hours.
Peel the tomatoes and arrange them in a guvec or baking dish without any gaps.
Chop the peppers into thick slices and scatter them over the tomatoes along with peeled whole garlic cloves.
Place the marinated lamb chops on top of the vegetables.
Dissolve the tomato paste in hot water and pour it over the dish.
Dot the top with butter pieces.
Cover the dish with parchment paper and then aluminum foil, sealing it tightly.
Bake in a preheated 200°C oven for about 1.5 hours with the cover on.
Uncover and bake for another 10 minutes until browned.
Serve hot.
Notes
The original recipe may use tail fat instead of butter.
