Baked Apples with Walnuts and Cinnamon

Ingredients

  • 4 apples
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 1 TBS brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 4 tsp butter
  • 3/4 cup water

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C

  2. Remove apple stickers and wash apples well then cut off the top part of the apple

  3. Use a corer to remove the inner seed pod of the apple and keep the apples aside

  4. Crush or chop walnuts roughly, place into a bowl with sugar and cinnamon, and mix well

  5. Place the apples into an oven-proof tray and stuff them with the mixture

  6. Add 1 teaspoon of butter on each apple and close with the apple lid

  7. Pour water into the baking dish

  8. Bake apples for 25-30 minutes, adjusting time based on apple size until they are wrinkled and tender

  9. Serve hot or cooled with the syrup sauce that has formed at the bottom of the dish
