Easy 3-Ingredient Flax Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Flaxseeds
  • 1/3 Cup Psyllium Husk
  • 2 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Cup Hot Water

Optional additions

  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1 Tsp Cumin, Vegetable Stock Seasoning or Curry Powder

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C and line a baking tray.

  2. Process flaxseeds until fine and flour-like. Add psyllium husk, baking powder and optional seasonings and process until fine.

  3. Transfer to a bowl, pour in hot water and stir. Once the mixture begins to hold, knead it into a ball; the dough will be on the wetter side.

  4. Place dough on the lined baking tray and mould it into a loaf. You can mould into other shapes such as buns, but be mindful of the difference in baking time.

  5. Bake in the oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the outside is crispy and a skewer comes out clean. Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Slice and enjoy.

Notes

  1. Store in the fridge for up to one week.

  2. Double the recipe for a larger loaf and adjust cooking time as needed.
