Old School Moist Butter Cake
Ingredients
- 1 block butter
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 5 eggs
- 2 1/2 cups self-raising flour
- 1/2 cup fresh milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Preparation
Preheat oven for 10 minutes at 170 degrees Celsius.
Beat butter and sugar until white and fluffy.
Add eggs one by one and beat until combined, then add vanilla essence.
Add flour alternately with milk.
Fold in with a spatula.
Pour into an 8-inch pan lined with baking paper.
Bake at 170 degrees for 45 minutes or adjust according to your oven, using top and bottom heat.
Invert the cake onto a wire rack and let it cool, then return to original position.
Tips
Do not overmix the batter to avoid a hard cake and ensure moisture.
