Simple Baked Cauliflower Wings
Ingredients
- 1 small head cauliflower
Batter
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons rice flour
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- white pepper to taste
Sauce
- 2.5 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon tamari or soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon vegan Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1-2 tablespoons water
- hot sauce to taste (optional)
Preparation
Mix all the batter ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
Preheat the oven to 495°F.
Cut a small head of cauliflower into florets.
Coat the florets well with the batter mixture.
Lay them on a non-stick baking sheet.
Bake for 10 minutes.
Remove from the oven, brush some oil on the cauliflower, flip them, and bake for another 5 minutes.
Mix all the sauce ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
Heat a pan with 1 teaspoon of avocado oil.
Pour the sauce into the pan slowly.
Add the baked cauliflower florets to the pan and coat them until well combined.
Serve immediately.
Tips
Brushing oil and flipping the cauliflower helps achieve a roasted appearance.
Pour the sauce slowly to avoid splashing.
