Spicy Plant-Based Chicken Burger

Ingredients

  • Vivera plant chicken breast style fillet
  • Beaten egg (optional for non-vegan)
  • 15g rice crispies
  • Paprika
  • Onion salt
  • Garlic powder
  • Chilli powder
  • Cracked black pepper
  • Jerk seasoning
  • Rapeseed oil (for spraying)

Burger assembly

  • Scotch roll
  • Lighter than light mayo
  • Lettuce
  • Red onion rings
  • Aldi UK Skeeters Bacon BBQ sauce

Preparation

  1. Mix the rice crispies, paprika, onion salt, garlic powder, chilli powder, cracked black pepper, and jerk seasoning together to make the coating mixture.

  2. Dip the plant chicken fillet in beaten egg, omitting if vegan.

  3. Coat the fillet evenly with the mixture.

  4. Spray with rapeseed oil and bake until crispy.

  5. Assemble the burger by placing the cooked fillet in a Scotch roll with lighter than light mayo, lettuce, red onion rings, and Aldi UK Skeeters Bacon BBQ sauce.

Tips

  1. This recipe is vegan if the egg is omitted.

  2. Adjust spice levels to personal taste for desired heat.
