Turkish Kadayif Revani Dessert

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1 cup semolina
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teacup vegetable oil
  • 1.5 cups roasted kadayıf
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 1 packet vanilla
  • 1 cup flour

Syrup

  • 3 cups water
  • 3 cups sugar
  • Quarter lemon

Topping

  • 1 packet powdered whipped cream
  • 1 teacup milk
  • 2 tablespoons clotted cream

Decoration

  • Powdered pistachio
  • Crushed hazelnut

Preparation

  1. Make the syrup first by combining sugar and water in a medium pot, bring to a boil on medium heat, add quarter lemon, boil for another 15 minutes on low heat, then remove from heat and let cool

  2. In a large bowl, beat eggs and sugar until frothy

  3. Add the remaining ingredients in order to form a batter of the right consistency

  4. Pour the batter into a greased medium rectangular baking dish

  5. Bake in a preheated 170-degree oven until the top is golden

  6. Once removed from the oven and slightly cooled, pour the lukewarm syrup over the cake and let it absorb

  7. After the cake has cooled completely, prepare the whipped cream by mixing the powdered whipped cream with milk and pipe it onto the cake as desired

  8. Garnish with powdered pistachio and crushed hazelnut, then serve
