Vegan Jam Stuffed Pretzels

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp vegan butter
  • 1 tbsp active dry yeast
  • jam of your choice
  • 2 tbsp baking soda

Preparation

  1. In a bowl, pour lukewarm water, vegan butter, sugar and active dry yeast, stir and let sit 10 min

  2. Should have a foam

  3. In a large bowl, pour flour and wet ingredients

  4. Stir with wooden spoon, then plce the dough on floured surface

  5. Knead 5 min until soft and smooth dough

  6. It should be a little bit sticky not too much

  7. If too wet add more flour if too dry add more water

  8. Place back into the bowl, cover with plastic wrap and let sit in a warm place 1h

  9. Dough should double

  10. Punch the dough

  11. Divide it into 6 pieces

  12. Preheat oven at 370 f

  13. Fill a pot with water, add baking soda, heat on medium

  14. Take one piece of the dough

  15. Roll it into a long rectangle

  16. Spread jam, roll it into a log

  17. Form a u shape, twist the end and fold them back on the u shape

  18. Pour it into the water for few seconds

  19. Remove and place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper

  20. Proceed like this until no more dough

  21. Bake for about 15-20 min or until golden brown

  22. Decorate and enjoy
