Vegan Jam Stuffed Pretzels
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp vegan butter
- 1 tbsp active dry yeast
- jam of your choice
- 2 tbsp baking soda
Preparation
In a bowl, pour lukewarm water, vegan butter, sugar and active dry yeast, stir and let sit 10 min
Should have a foam
In a large bowl, pour flour and wet ingredients
Stir with wooden spoon, then plce the dough on floured surface
Knead 5 min until soft and smooth dough
It should be a little bit sticky not too much
If too wet add more flour if too dry add more water
Place back into the bowl, cover with plastic wrap and let sit in a warm place 1h
Dough should double
Punch the dough
Divide it into 6 pieces
Preheat oven at 370 f
Fill a pot with water, add baking soda, heat on medium
Take one piece of the dough
Roll it into a long rectangle
Spread jam, roll it into a log
Form a u shape, twist the end and fold them back on the u shape
Pour it into the water for few seconds
Remove and place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper
Proceed like this until no more dough
Bake for about 15-20 min or until golden brown
