Brazilian Creamy Ground Beef Pie
Ingredients
Crust
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 50g heavy cream
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- Oil and flour for greasing and dusting the pan
Filling
- 3 tablespoons oil
- 500g ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 tomato, deseeded and chopped
- 1 packet beef seasoning powder
- Salt and chopped parsley to taste
- 1 cup cheddar-flavored cream cheese
- 50g heavy cream
Preparation
Filling
Heat oil in a medium pan over medium heat and fry ground beef and onion for 5 minutes or until dry
Add mushrooms, tomato, seasoning, salt, and parsley and sautΓ© for 3 minutes
Turn off heat, let cool, then mix in cream cheese and heavy cream
Crust and assembly
Blend eggs, milk, heavy cream, oil, and salt in a blender until homogeneous
Transfer to a bowl and mix in cornstarch, flour, and baking powder with a spoon
Pour half the batter into a greased and floured 25cm x 35cm baking dish
Distribute the filling over the batter and cover with the remaining batter
Bake in a preheated medium oven for 30 minutes or until cooked and golden
Let cool and serve in pieces
