Stir-Fried Bean Sprouts and Tempeh

Ingredients

  • 300g bean sprouts
  • 200g tempeh
  • 3 red shallots
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 red curly chilies
  • 1 green onion
  • 4 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation

  1. Heat oil in a wok. Fry tempeh until cooked. Remove and drain.

  2. Leave 2 tablespoons of oil in the wok. Sauté red shallots and garlic until fragrant and wilted.

  3. Add back the tempeh. Stir well.

  4. Add salt, pepper, sweet soy sauce, and chili. Stir well.

  5. Add bean sprouts and water. Cook over medium heat until boiling and the sauce thickens.

  6. Taste and adjust seasoning.

  7. Add green onion slices. Stir well.

  8. Turn off the heat. Serve hot.
