Tahu Gejrot Indonesian Tofu Snack

Ingredients

  • 10 pieces sumedang tofu
  • 100g palm sugar
  • Tamarind to taste
  • Green chili peppers to taste
  • 150ml water
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 shallot
  • 2 garlic cloves

Preparation

  1. Boil water, palm sugar, and tamarind until sugar dissolves and slightly reduces. Set aside to cool.

  2. Roughly crush chili, shallot, garlic, and salt.

  3. Pour the sugar and tamarind sauce over the crushed mixture and check the taste.

  4. Cut tofu into pieces on a plate.

  5. Pour the sauce over the tofu. Tahu gejrot is ready.
