Turkish Oven-Baked Kebab

Ingredients

  • 1 kg medium-fat minced beef
  • 2 onions
  • 2 green bell peppers
  • 1 red bell pepper
  • Half bunch parsley
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 2 teaspoons salt

For decoration

  • 1 onion
  • 2 charleston peppers
  • Cherry tomatoes

For sauce

  • 1 tablespoon pepper paste
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water

Preparation

  1. If you have a food processor, blend the onion, parsley, and green pepper; otherwise, chop them very finely.

  2. Place the minced meat in a deep bowl and add the chopped mixture along with the spices.

  3. Knead the mixture well to ensure it holds shape.

  4. Spread one tablespoon of tomato paste and half a tea cup of oil on the bottom of the baking tray.

  5. Press the meat mixture into the tray, ensuring there are no gaps.

  6. Decorate the top with quartered tomatoes, halved peppers, and onion pieces.

  7. Mix the sauce ingredients and pour over the tray evenly.

  8. Preheat the oven to 200°C and bake for about 40 minutes.

  9. Serve with flatbread for best results.
