Healthy Oatmeal Bowl with Berry Jam
Ingredients
Oatmeal
- 1/3 cup of quick Steel Cut oats
- 1 tbsp ground flaxseeds
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 1 banana, sliced
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
Berry jam
- 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries
- 2 tsp chia seeds
- 1/2 tsp sweetener (optional)
Preparation
To make oats creamy, optionally use quick oats or process them in a food processor.
In a saucepan, add oats, banana, cinnamon, salt, flax seeds, and milk.
Bring to a simmer on low to medium heat and heat for 3 minutes until thickened.
Remove from stove.
For the berry jam, in a microwave-safe dish, combine chia seeds, frozen mixed berries, and sweetener.
Microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds.
Stir, mash, and allow to sit for 5 minutes to thicken.
You can prepare the jam while the oats are cooking to save time.
