Homemade Sesame Cookies with Soft Texture
Ingredients
- 1 egg (50 grams)
- 50 grams granulated sugar
- 40 grams vegetable oil
- 160 grams all-purpose flour
- baking powder, 1/3 + 1/4 teaspoon
- a pinch of vanilla
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, plus extra for topping
Preparation
Mix egg, vanilla, sugar, and oil in a bowl with a fork until sugar is almost dissolved, then add sesame seeds.
Mix flour and baking powder in another bowl, sift, and add gradually until a soft dough forms.
Roll out the dough to 4 mm thickness between two plastic sheets or parchment paper.
Sprinkle additional sesame seeds on top, roll again until seeds stick and thickness is 3 mm, then cut with desired cutter.
Transfer to a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper and lightly greased with a brush.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 12 to 15 minutes, with an empty rack below.
Tips
This cookie has a soft texture, not biscuity.
Using a large cutter yields about 30 cookies.
