Easy Homemade Lemon Shortbread Butter Cookies
Ingredients
- 200 g all-purpose flour
- 100 g unsalted butter (do not use margarine)
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 heaping tablespoon lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons water, if needed
Preparation
Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius
Line baking sheets with parchment paper
Combine the flour, sugar, butter, egg, and lemon zest in a bowl and mix until blended
Gradually add the water until the dough forms a ball and pulls away from the hands
Shape the dough into small balls and flatten each with a fork
Bake until the bottoms are golden
