Baked Apple Cookie Bars
Ingredients
Dough
- 125 g butter at room temperature
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons starch
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 packet vanilla
- 1 packet baking powder
- flour as needed
Filling
- 5 apples
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
Preparation
Mix all ingredients except flour in a suitable bowl.
Gradually add flour and knead to form a soft dough with the consistency of an earlobe.
Take an orange-sized piece of dough, place it in a freezer bag, and freeze it.
Spread the remaining dough evenly in a greased baking dish and chill in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes.
For the filling, grate the apples and cook them in a pan with sugar and cinnamon until the juice evaporates.
Add the chopped walnuts to the filling and mix, then remove from heat and let it cool.
Spread the cooled filling over the dough in the baking dish.
Grate the frozen dough over the filling to cover it completely.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C until the top is golden brown.
After baking, let it cool, then dust with powdered sugar and serve.
