Crispy Fried Tuna with Gravy
Ingredients
- 300 g fresh tuna, thinly sliced and boneless
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Oil for frying, as needed
- 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 egg white, for dipping
Coating mixture
- 3 cloves garlic
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon ground pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- A little water
Gravy
- 1 clove garlic, chopped
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 2 red chilies, finely chopped
- 1/2 tomato, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon margarine or oil
- Salt to taste
- Sugar to taste
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
- 3 tablespoons chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon sweet soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon oregano
- 300 ml water or as needed
Preparation
Wash the tuna clean, rub with lime juice and salt, and let it marinate for 7 minutes. Mix the coating mixture ingredients until smooth and lump-free.
Prepare all-purpose flour in a separate bowl. Heat oil for frying. Once hot, dip the tuna in egg white, then in the coating mixture, and coat with dry flour. Repeat for all pieces.
Fry until golden brown, then remove and drain.
Heat a little oil and sauté the garlic, onion, red chilies, and tomato.
Add water, sugar, salt, and pepper. Then stir in the flour and cornstarch. Add tomato sauce, chili sauce, and sweet soy sauce, and mix evenly.
Cook until the mixture boils and thickens, then turn off the heat.
Arrange the fried tuna on a serving plate, pour the sauce over it, and sprinkle with oregano.
It is ready to serve.
