Stir-Fried Red Shallots with Petai and Egg

Ingredients

  • 1/4 red shallots
  • 1 petai bean pod
  • 1 egg
  • 7 bird's eye chilies (optional)
  • 2 red chilies
  • 2 green chilies
  • 1/4 teaspoon shrimp paste
  • Sugar to taste
  • Salt to taste

Preparation

  1. Peel the red shallots and cut them into 2 or 3 pieces.

  2. Stir-fry the red shallots with bird's eye chilies, red chilies, and green chilies until wilted.

  3. Add shrimp paste, followed by petai beans.

  4. Then add the egg and scramble it.

  5. Add sugar and salt, and stir-fry until everything is wilted and the flavor is balanced.

Serving suggestions

  1. Serve with fried tempeh and cucumber salad.
